Elite Magazine (Emag) has officially been launched at the Atlantic Hotel in Banjul on Sunday, 12th January 2020. EMAG will cover Gambian fashion, lifestyle, culture, tourism, sports, business and many other aspects of local and international stories.
Elite Magazine founded by Fatoumata Rahman Coker saw the first edition of the magazine which is dedicated to the Lord Mayoress of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe fly off the shelfs at a special promotion price of D200.
Speaking at the launch event at the Atlantic Hotel in Banjul, an emotional Fatoumata Rahman Coker thanked her family, sponsors, team, fans and supporters for making the launching of EMAG a reality. Holding back tears, the EMAG CEO, revealed that the idea of the magazine came from her 18 year old daughter some 7 years ago when she was only 11 years old. Due to difficulties in the past 7 seven years, the magazine could not come to press until now.
According to the CEO and Founder of the Magazine, “the concept of Elite Magazine, EMAG, was first brainstormed in October 2015 having pondered over the idea from her daughter a few years prior, but never actually materialised because of so many obstacles. However, having beaten all the odds in the past four years, EMAG finally hits the market. “

The launching event was attended by Minister of defence, Mustapha Njie (TAF), Banjul Mayoress Rohey Malick Lowe, Fatu Network CEO Fatou Camara, Hon. Mama Kandeh of GDC, among other dignitaries all of whom spoke highly of the Elite Magazine CEO.
