Gunjur born American business man, Alex Darboe has presented a checque of 50,000 Dalasi to representatives of Gunjur Development Association (GDA) at his office in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The donation is in response to a massive fundraising campaign to actualise the construction of a multi-million dalas, well equipped skills and multi-purpose centre in the sprawling coastal settlement.
Writing on his Facebook page after sharing photos of the presentation of the donation, the real estate businessman said: “Presentation of a 50,000 Dalasi donation at our realty office towards the construction of a skills center in my beloved village of Gunjur.
I had a big Real Estate closing yesterday and thought I’d give a little back to develop my community with the little I have.”
Also speaking at the presentation event, Yankuba Darboe, a representative of GDA conveyed the appreciation of the people of Gunjur adding the donor has been an exemplary member of the community and uses his business success to support development projects in his community and beyond.
Giving the vote of thanks, Faburama Darboe said the massive donation has injected life into their fund raising drive and will go a long way towards the completion of the school project.
