Gunjur Dabanani were moments away from securing their place in the 5th edition of the West Coast Zonal Football Championship final after taking a late lead against Kombo South rivals Tujereng in their semi-final clash at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The tightly contested encounter produced a goalless first half, with both sides displaying resilience and tactical discipline.


Early in the second half, Tujereng were reduced to ten men after Ousainou Gibba was shown a second yellow card. Gunjur quickly capitalised on their numerical advantage, breaking the deadlock in the 65th minute through Jerreh Camara, who netted his second goal of the tournament.

However, the drama intensified in stoppage time when the ten-man Tujereng side snatched an equaliser in the 92nd minute, denying Gunjur victory and forcing the semi-final into a replay.
