UDP Congress: Darboe regrets Wollof exclusion at Congress

As UDP congress gets underway, party leader and Secretary General Ousainou Darboe has expressed regret for rendering his speech only in Mandinka to the exclusion of Wollof language ’.

Addressing party delegates drawn from across the country at Penchami Hall,Darboe said:

“I have made a big blunder.Deputy Party leader Aji Yam Secka has just told me I have done something unacceptable.I can’t be the husband of two wollof wives from Banjul without rendering my speech in Wollof as well.Everyone that drinks water makes mistakes.I have made a big blunder”.

In his speech, Ousainou Darboe declared president Barrow had ‘turned out to be worse than Jammeh whom you voted out for change’.

Addressing party delegates drawn from across the country at Penchami Hall, Darboe lamented:

“Gambians voted for change and reforms in 2021 to remove Yahya Jammeh. He came to people with promises of change, but what he is doing is even worse than what Yahya Jammeh did.He just used the promise of reforms to get people to vote for him,but once he got to power he is doing worse than Jammeh did.

The office of the president has been allocated D627M while people are suffering.I wonder what kind of food he consumes to be spending D150,000 per day on food while people around the country worry where their next meal is coming from”.
