Last night, strong winds caused severe damages to properties in and around Gunjur. Services are also severely disrupted due to damages to power cables. For the past twelve hours, there has been no electricity in most parts of Kombos as a results of last nights strong winds. One one the most affected business is NEMA Kuta Eco lodge. The popular Eco lodge suffered damages worth thousands of Dalasis.
As can be seen in the these pictures, entire trees were uprooted that landed on houses. The owner of the lodge; Mr Alieu Darboe was philosophical about the damages, he thanked Allah that there was no injuries. At the time of the incident, Alieu as resting in one of the houses on which an entire tree landed on but he has not sustained any injuries.
Gunjur and environment continues to be without electricity as we go to press.
