Government Spokesman discloses how president Barrow disparaged arrested journalist Pa Modou Bojang

By Sainey Darboe, Editor-in-Chief:

Government spokesman, Ebrima G Sankareh, has disclosed that he was instructed by president Adama Barrow to eschew appearance on Menbekering radio talk show hosted by renowned journalist Pa Modou Bojang.

This bombshell revelation was made by Pa Modou Bojang in an interview with Kerr Fatou following release from police detention. Pa Modou Bojang got arrested by members of the Gambia Police Force as protests organized by pressure group ‘three years jotna’ crescendoed.

“Sankareh came to my show with information minister Ebrima Sillah. He wanted to lecture me on journalism and control me like he did with QTV journalist, but I told him this is not a lecture class. He was there to answer questions and I would do my job as a journalist. But off the record, he told me he was instructed not to come on the show by president Adama Barrow because Barrow thinks I am a UDP sympathizer”.

It’s been a supremely challenging period for government spokesman Ebrima Sankareh amid a proliferation of protests, as Gambians take to the street to show dissatisfaction over Barrrow’s failure to institute reforms at the pace they insist upon, or honour the coalition 2016 presidential timetable of three years following which fresh elections would be organised.
