Amid mounting political tensions and uncertainty in the lead up to the three-year anniversary of Adama Barrow’s presidency, Interior Minister Ebrima Mballow has announced charges against 15 protesters.
Part of the pressure group “Operation Three Years Jotna“, the protesters took to the streets with Barrow as their persuasion target to make his exit after three years instead of the constitutionally mandated five years.
Speaking to The Fatu Network, the interior minister vowed the nabbed protesters will face the full rigors of the law. His words:
“I’m aware of it. Of course yes [they were arrested]. They will be charged for protesting without a permit. It’s against the law. If you do anything that is against the laws of the country, the law will take its course”.
