#GAMBIA: Jammeh 2Justice Holds Press Conference
The Jammeh2Justice are currently holding a press briefing at the victims centre. The group determined to bring to justice, the former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh who stands accused of numerous human rights abuses during his 22 years rule of the tiny West African nation.
In a speech at the opening of the 2020 legal year, Gambian justice minister Hon. Ba Tambedou was unequivocal that ex-President Jammeh will be arrested as soon as he steps foot on Gambian soil.
The justice minister’s statement followed revelation in a WhatsApp conversation between Jammeh and his party stalwarts that he Jammeh will return to The Gambia and no one can stop him from coming back to the country.
Last week, former President Jammeh’s APRC party was granted permit to demonstrate demanding the government honours an agreement between EVOWAS, UN and others in a deal they saw Jammeh relinquish power to President Adama Barrow in January 2017.
This protest did not go down well with victims of former President Jammeh who released a press statement condemning the granting of the permit and the subsequent demonstration of the APRC party to demand the home coming of their supreme leader.
