West Coast Zonal Champions, Gunjur have knocked out Lamin in the 2023 West Coast Zonal Football Tournament, thanks to a hat trick from Omar Jabang, aka Ozil.
Gunjur, through Omar Jabang scored two first half goals to finish the first 45 minutes two goals to the goods. The second half saw another goal yet again from Omar Jabang who completed his hat trick making the score line 0-3 to the Coastal boys.
The Dabanani outfit was too strong for the Lamin team who failed to utilise home advantage as the game was played at the late Sanna Jatta memorial field in Lamin.
Gunjur FC will now proceed into the semi finals as the defending champions look to defend their title.
Elsewhere, the Sukuta vs COSDA game ended 1-1 in regulation time before proceeding to penalty kicks. However, due to darkness, the shootout was called off by central referee which left that contest in conclusive.
