Madam Fatoumatta Bah Barrow, First Lady of The Gambia has on Thursday distributed over 200 parcels of food in Gunjur as Iftar.
The food parcel distribution started in Kulukochi at the premises of a prominent supporter of the First Lady’s husband’s National People’s Party (NPP). The exercise continued to the Gunjur market and central mosque where more food parcels and dates were handed to some people who were reciting the Quran in the central mosque.
Reacting to the First Lady’s gesture in Gunjur during the Holy month of Ramadan, MamaKaddy Bajo who is a staunch supporter of NPP and mother of the party’s Kombo South women wing had this to say:
“Gunjur's a renowned Town in the political and religious history of our dear motherland, therefore Her Excellency's benevolence to them was really appreciated thus the reactions can affirm this."
