BREAKING: Killer of Buba Jammeh of Gunjur arrested, in police custody
Gunjur Online can authoritatively report that fugitive Buba Drammeh accused of Killing Buba Jammeh during a communal land dispute between the people of Gunjur and Berending in March 2019 has been apprehended and under police custody.
Confirming the arrest of Buba Drammeh, The Gambia Police PRO ASP Lamin Njie told this medium that Buba Drammeh was indeed arrested and helping the police with their investigation into the alleged killing of Buba Jammeh during the communal land dispute between some people of Gunjur and Berending in March 2019. ASP Njie thanked the general public on behalf of the Inspector General of Police for their assistance during the manhunt, and specifically thanked those who provided information leading to the arrest of the alleged killer.
A creditable source had earlier this morning disclosed information to Gunjur Online about the arrest of Buba Drammeh at the Berending Cultural festival. According to source, Buba Drammeh was arrested when he came to Berending to attend the cultural festival over the weekend. Security operatives from the police anti-crime unit arrived and pounced on the fugitive following a tip off that fugitive Buba Drammeh was in Berending. He was believed to have been tear gassed and whisked away very quickly from the crowd.
When contacted to confirm or deny our story earlier this morning, Police PRO ASP Lamin Njie promised to check with the West Coast police command and the Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) and get back to us. Following a call back to the police PRO Njie, he confirmed our story that Buba Drammeh has indeed been arrested and under custody helping police with their investigations.
It could be recalled that Buba Drammeh was alleged to have gunned down Buba Jammeh with a hunting gun when dispute erupted over communal land issue in March 2019.
