The Hon Mama Kandeh made a visit to Gunjur and met with those currently facing criminal charges following their alleged involvement in removing the then illegal waste pipe from the Sea. The meeting which lasted over two hours gave an opportunity for open discussions about the concerns being raised by the community for over 12 months. During the meeting those present witnessed firsthand the bad smells coming from the factory some 1.5km away and at times needed to cover their noses. Hon Mama Kandeh offered his support to those accused as a concerned Gambian. He gave D20’000 towards the expenditure involved with this legal case which was received through the Gunjur Development Association.
