Donors provide renovation materials and will cover plumbing labour costs to improve sanitation at the health facility.

Gunjur Health Centre has received a donation of materials to support the renovation of its toilet facilities, in a move aimed at improving sanitation and hygiene at the health facility.

The donation was made by Sulayman Junkung Darboe, Bakary Badjie, Abdoulie Demba (Kebbeh) and their partners. It follows their earlier contribution of an air-conditioning unit to the same health centre.

In addition to providing the renovation materials, the donors have also committed to covering the labour costs of the plumbers who will undertake the renovation work.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Alhagie Saikouba Barrow, representing the Council of Elders; Lamin Saidy; Ward Councillor Momodou Charreh Gibba; and Janko Barrow, Chairman of the VDC Health and Environmental Sub-Committee.

The materials were received on behalf of the health centre by Public Health Officer Mr Karanta Darboe.

The intervention is expected to contribute to improved sanitary conditions at the facility, helping to provide a cleaner and more hygienic environment for patients, healthcare workers and other visitors.

The management of Gunjur Health Centre expressed gratitude to the donors for their generosity and continued support, acknowledging their contribution towards improving the facility.

The donation highlights the role of community members and partners in supporting local healthcare services and addressing essential infrastructure needs at health facilities.
