Former member of Gambia National Army and a death squad called the Junglers, Omar Jallow, has admitted to his involvement in the killing of Baba Jobe.

Baba Jobe was a Libya-trained Gambian who was instrumental in securing funds from the Gafhafi regime for the cash-starved Jammeh regime when he seized power in 1994 amid aid freeze from the West.
Baba Jobe became a member of National Assembly, as well as an influential member of Jammeh’s inner circle until they fell out and he was charged with economic crimes.
Baba Jobe had already finished his ten year sentence in the notorious Mile 2 prisons when he was pronounced dead after a purported period of illness.
According to a postmortem conducted at the time, Baba Jobe had succumbed to Malaria and hypertension which his family had accepted at the time.
