Gambian schools to reopen from 15 June

Schools in The Gambia are to reopen from Monday, 15th June 2020. The decision was taken by principals of schools at an extra-ordinary executive committee meeting held on Monday, 1st June.

According to the recommendation paper seen by GunjurOnline, the reopening will be staggered starting with Grade 9 from June 15 and July 13 for Grade 12 with special priority given to examination classes.

However, further reopening plans for the rest of classes or school levels will be dependent on national health and medical advice.

To ensure that relsuts are out in time for September enrolments, GABECE exams are proposed to begin mid-July, with WASSCE exams taking place in September.
