Buba Drammeh failed to appear in court as judge orders prison director to produce suspect

The case of Buba Drammeh and four others resumed at the high court in Banjul today. Accused persons 2,3,4 and 5 were all present, except 1st accused Buba Drammeh, GunjurOnline can authoritatively report.

Buba Drammeh, a native of Berending stand accused of the point blank shooting and killing of Buba Jammeh of Gunjur over a communial land dispute in March 2019. The accused left the jurisdiction of the country only to be apprehended a year later and remanded on the Mile 2 central prosions.

About a month ago, this medium reported that Buba Drammeh has escaped state custody and no longer at the mile two central prosions. When the case was called at the High Court presided over judge Alexander Osei Tutu, Buba Drammeh was not amount they accused persons standing trial.

Consequently, State counsel Ebrima Mbalo made an application to the court for the Director General of the Prison Services to produce the 1st accused person or himself to appear and explain to the court about the whereabout of the 1st accused person. The application was granted and the court ordered the Director General of presion to ensure that the accused is present in court on the next adjourned date.

The case is adjourned to the 28th January 2021.
