Barrow vows to keep country away from UDP ‘vultures’

President Adama Barrow has vowed to keep his position as head of state and vowed to do anything in his power not to allow it to fall into the hands of ‘vultures’.

Gambian President Adama Barrow

Speaking at a well attended meeting in Kombo South, president Barrow declared:

“It’s only a useless hunter who goes to the bush and kill a game only to give it to vultures. You cannot expect a hunter who took on the lion and killed it to come and give it to vultures. I will never do that. I have been a foot soldier since 1996 until Allah helped me to be selected as candidate.

People have fought for their countries and sacrificed and others come later on to become president. Mandela fought for his country and became president after going to prison. But there were others before him like Oliver Tambo who occupied positions in the party before him but never became president”.
