𝐌𝐁𝐆 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲

The 18th Marlborough Brandt Group (MBG) Summer Trip from St John’s Marlborough is set to arrive in Gunjur on Saturday, 8 August 2026, marking another chapter in a long-standing partnership between the people of Gunjur and the Marlborough community in the United Kingdom.

This year’s delegation will be working at Gunjur Lower Basic School, the very school where the first MBG group constructed a classroom block in 1985. Continuing that legacy of community partnership, the volunteers will join local building professionals and members of the Gunjur community to renovate the school’s dilapidated teachers’ accommodation.

The renovation project aims to provide safe and comfortable accommodation for teachers who travel long distances to work at the school, helping to improve staff welfare and support quality education.

Beyond the construction work, the annual summer trip remains firmly rooted in the values of cultural exchange, mutual understanding and shared experiences. Throughout their two-week stay in Gunjur, the group will participate in a range of community, educational and cultural activities, strengthening the friendship that has connected the two communities for more than four decades.

The Marlborough Brandt Group’s continued commitment to Gunjur has contributed to numerous development initiatives over the years, reflecting the enduring spirit of international friendship, volunteerism and community cooperation.
