A resuscitation training session for healthcare workers at Gunjur Health Centre successfully concluded on Wednesday, April 15.
The training was organised by Gambiana, as part of its ongoing project to improve healthcare delivery for women and children in The Gambia. Over the past two years, the organisation has been actively supporting resuscitation training programmes at the facility, introducing globally recognised systems and best practices.

Healthcare workers received practical, hands-on refresher training on performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for both adults and children. The sessions were facilitated by volunteer medical professionals from Belgium, who provided step-by-step guidance and real-life emergency response techniques.
Beyond training, Gambiana continues to play a vital role in strengthening healthcare systems. The organisation supports the implementation of improved practices at both Gunjur Health Centre and Brikama Health Centre, while also supplying essential medical materials to enhance service delivery.
Gambiana has further contributed to the renovation of labour rooms, helping to upgrade facilities and improve conditions for maternal and child healthcare. In addition to its health interventions, the organisation supports schools and participates in various community development initiatives.
This yearโs training programme has been particularly successful, with newly introduced practices well received by participants.
At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the trainingโmarking a significant milestone in their professional development.
The initiative continues to strengthen the capacity of frontline health workers, ensuring they are better equipped to respond effectively to life-threatening situations and improve patient outcomes within the community.
