Earlier today (Wednesday 27 September), the Gambia-EU-UK-US Indigent Legal Aid (Geukslat) pro bono attorney Dr. Lamin J. Darbo was able to secure a meeting with Ouseinou Bojang, the police suspect in the PIU shooting incident.
Dr. Lamin J. Darbo shared this update with Geukslat, a Legal Aid body comprising of the Gambia, UK, US and EU a few hours ago:
āI just concluded a meeting with Ousainou Bojang after securing ācooperationā from the panel investigating him.
He said the police are giving him food and water

It could be recalled that the suspect was denied access to his Lawyer prompting him to write to the Inspector General of Police to register his disappointment in the conduct of officers stationed at the Police Anti-crime unit where the suspect was being held for interrogation.
Ousainou Bojang stand accused of shooting and killing two PIU officers on duty and wounding a third. The family of the accused engaged the services of bro bono Lawyer Dr. Lamin J. Darbo to represent Ousainou Bojang.
