Coronavirus: UDP postpones ALL public activities of the party in light of the COVID-19 virus pandemic. The decision was taken at a party emergency meeting earlier today.

According to the UDP party leader and Secretary General, Hon. Ousainou Darboe, the decision was taken following advice from the campaign and national organising committees to comply with the ministry of health guidance and advice to prevent the spread of the virus in The Gambia. This means the planned countrywide tour of the party leader, preparations of which is in high gear will now not take place until further notice.
UDP assures Gambians that their hearts are with them in this trying times. The party urges the government to ensure that measures are put in place to curb the virus should it ever cross the boarders into the county.
The UDP leadership urges everyone to abide by the guidance of the public health officials to protect and stop the spread of the virus if it ever arrives in the country.
