#Breaking: The Fatu Network Facebook page hacked as Gambia’s premier news network looses control of the page.


The Fatu Network has come under cyber attack as the network’s Facebook page was compromised and hijacked.


Re-assuring her followers on Facebook, the Fatu Network CEO, Fatu Camara revealed:


“The Fatu Network Facebook Page is Hacked!


Everything you currently seeing on The Fatu Network Facebook Page is NOT posted by me or any member of our admin team.


The page has been taken from us for the past 5 hours, we have reported the issue to Facebook and they are working on resolving it. Right now none of us at The Fatu Network has control over the page.


To our editors and the admin team, please change your Facebook passwords as soon as you can.


Will update you once the issue is resolved. Thank you and please take note!”


The network hasn’t been able to post anything on the page since 16:35 on Saturday, 11th April as hackers have taken control of the page and posting content that is not relevant to the news network.

What's On - Gambia, another popular online news outlet has also recently come under cyber attack as their website repeatedly goes down especially on Wednesdays when the outlet publishes their weekly stories.


Fatu Network has reported the hacking incident to Facebook who are looking into the matter to recover the page.
