Mai Ahmad Fatty: GMC is the most disciplined political Party in The Gambia

The secretary General and leader of The Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) has wildly claimed that GMC is the most disciplined political party in the country.

The GMC leader made these remarks as he explains the reason behind holding the yellow and red flags of UDP and GMC as his convoys goes to Election House to present his credentials for nomination as presidential candidate for the 2021 polls.

He said: “On my way to the nomination this afternoon, my convoy encountered UDP returnees from nominating their Party Leader. They happily rushed towards my vehicle to shake hands. I permitted them way. They handed me a UDP flag which I accepted to wave briefly, in the spirit of political tolerance and national unity. GMC, being the most disciplined political Party in The Gambia, politics to us, is a source of goodness, not division and acrimony.”

Mai Fatty’s GMC signed an MOU with Dr Ismaila Ceesay’s CA and APP last week. However, that coalition appears to be dead in the water as the GKC leader presented himself before IEC and was formally nominated to GMC presidential candidate, saying his immediate priorities lies with solving the many issues Gambia faces and only his leadership can fix these many issues.

Gambians will go to the polls on December 4th to elect a President who will be tasked to run the affairs of the country for the next five years.

Main opposition party UDP appear to have the momentum as their supporters painted roads leading to election house and the stadium, yellow. NPP and their coalition partners’ incumbent President Barrow is due to present his nomination credentials on Thursday. The GDC-AFPRC-GANU merger is another camp that claims to be heading to 1 Marina Parade come December 5th. What is clear though, is that the 2021 Presidential election will be like no other so far in the election history of The Gambia, for there is a lot at stake for all the main contenders.
