Lawyer Darboe: Kemeseng was fired for refusing to join Barrow
By Sainey Darboe:
The leader of United Democratic Party, Ousainou Darboe, has disclosed that Kemeseng Jammeh’s diplomatic appointment was terminated in pursuit of political calculations.
Kemeseng Jammeh was the Gambian ambassador to Turkey for two years, but was recalled after the expiration of his contract.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ‘Menbekereng’ in Europe, the former Vice President and UDP supremo enunciated:
“The things that happened under Jammeh are still happening under the new government. The civil service has been politicized.Government officials and civil servants have been engaging in politics including Alkalos and chiefs.
That kind of politics has no place in New Gambia. Kemeseng Jammeh was fired because he refused to support Barrow. Adama Barrow asked him to join him but he refused. He told Adama Barrow to come back to UDP with the respect that gave him the position he is in right now”.
