Fatoumata Janneh is a 22 year old student from Gunjur, Kombo South, The Gambia. Fatoumata’s education and dream of going through school like her peers grounded to halt when she started suffering from a skin condition when she developed rashes, fever, weight loss and painful lower limbs and swelling of her face and lips. Until this time, Fatoumata is a very active member of the local Red Cross Society helping others in their times of need.
Fatoumatta who is now wheelchair bound, was later taken to the Medical Research Centre (MRC) where she was diagnosed with dermatomyositis that requires overseas treatment. Fatoumatta’s parents want to take her to Senegal to seek medical help, but this comes at a financial cost. The young lady’s parents are not financially able to pay for this trip and possible treatment as the father is a low paid teacher.
The family approached GunjurOnline to start a fundraising campaign help raise the needed funds for Fatoumata’s treatment.
Fatoumata’s parents are Buba Janneh (BK) and Alimatou Touray both from Gunjur.
Therefore, we are appealing to our followers who can spare any amount to help Fatoumata to access treatment in the neighbouring country, Senegal so that she can continue with her education. No amount is too small and anything you give will be hugely appreciated by Fatoumata and her family. Please donate generously if you can.
