The sprawling coastal settlement of Gunjur in the Kombo Coast is today mourning one of her illustrious and educationist son in the person of Momodou Saho, commonly known simply as “Malu”.
The said event which took place late Friday evening was the third high profile death following the passing of Alhagie Baboucarr Bambaba Touray and Sakara Jabang earlier on Friday.
Momodou Saho is the son of late Fa Yaya Saho of Gunjur Kulcochi, and the father to U.K. based brothers Kalifa Saho and Ousman Saho.
Announcing the terrible news to friends and family, his eldest son Kalifa Saho revealed:
“Family and friends, my heart is heavy, my great hero, the man who made me the person I am today, my Father Mr Momodou Saho commonly known as Malu or Master as some call him. He was a teacher and a headmaster then he work as the special needs education officer at the Ministry of education in the Gambia just passed away. Please help me pray for him. Thank you all. May Allah grant him the highest place in Janna .”
Momodou Saho spent many years as a teacher before moving on to work as a Soecial Needs education officer in The Gambia. Many have passed through his hands at Gunjur Primary School and other schools he has worked at, both as a teacher and headmaster.
Master Saho will be dearly missed especially those who knew him well. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and reward him the highest of Jannah.
