Former Jammeh minister Manlafi Jarjue has died

Former minister of Local Government and Lands, Manlafi Jarjue, has died according to reliable sources reaching Gunjuronline.

Late former Local Government and Lands minister Manlafi Jarjue

Manlafi Jarjue used to be based in the Southern US city of Atlanta from where he was tapped by former president Yahya Jammeh to serve as minister in his cabinet.

His was a meteoric rise within the close circle of the mercurial tyrant. Manlafi would go on to serve as Secretary General of the ruling APRC party.

But the law of gravity is no respecter of persons in the Jammeh world. He was fired in sensational fashion and detained by the feared National Intelligence Agency where he endured torture.

After his troubles with the former regime petered out, Manlafi Jarjue picked up the pieces of his shattered life and enrolled in the law faculty of the university of The Gambia where he earned his degree. He later became a magistrate. The mortal remains of the once highflying minister was laid to rest at Faraba Banta earlier today.
