Former Gunjur United Striker Dawda Darboe alias ‘Viper’ who moved to Wallidan FC from the Coastal boys has scored for his new club following his move from Gunjur United FC. Darboe played his debut for Wallidan FC in the Super Cup against Hawks FC.
However, it was not until his team's game against Real de Banjul in the GFF First Division when Darboe's debut goal came in the opening half of the derby.
This was Darboe’s first of the season and first in the GFF Division One.
In his post match reaction, Darboe told journalists that he was pleased with his debut goal coming in this particular fixture. Scoring in the derby has motivated him further and he is ever committed to putting up good performances and scoring throughout the rest of the season. He looks forward to the challenge of the first division and is so far enjoying his time at Wallidan.
On how he feels after leaving the Coastal outfit, Darboe said he has a lot of thanks and praises for his former club Gunjur United, wishes them a successful season and would like to thank the community of Gunjur for their ongoing support.
On a related development, Darboe has also been training with the preliminary U20 squad preparing for the U20 AFCON in Egypt having been apart of the squad that participated in the WAFU. The final squad for AFCON U20 is expected to be announced in the coming days.
