An anonymous businessman has donated a staggering D1.5 million towards the ongoing renovation and facelift of the historic Gunjur Central Mosque, providing a major boost to the community-led project.

The generous donation was made during a recent visit by the businessman to the mosque, where he inspected the renovation works currently underway. The contribution comes after the people of Gunjur both at home and diaspora united to raise more than one million dalasis to support the refurbishment of one of the town’s most important religious landmarks.
