D8 Million Scholarship Commitment Signals BAC’s Continued Investment in Education

In a remarkable stride toward educational empowerment, the Brikama Area Council (BAC) has announced a substantial allocation of over D8 million towards scholarship packages for the 2025 fiscal year. This initiative is aimed at supporting both needy and high-performing students across the West Coast Region.

The scholarship program is designed to ease the financial burden on families while promoting access to quality education for students from diverse academic backgrounds.

In 2024, more than 300 students across various learning institutions including both English and Arabic schools benefited from fully funded scholarship packages according to BAC. The 2025 allocation not only expands the scope of the program but also ensures continuity for existing beneficiaries. Students currently supported by the 2024 program will be able to continue and complete their respective academic courses, while the new allocation will also welcome fresh applicants.

Since the launch of the revamped scholarship scheme in 2024, over 600 students are projected to benefit from the Council’s intervention, reflecting a strategic investment in the region’s future leaders. The scholarships cover a range of educational needs, offering critical support to families and helping to improve academic performance and school retention rates.
