As we journey along the uncertain and often chaotic road of life, we tend to overlook the inevitability of death. Though we know it is certain, we often live in quiet denial of this reality.
Indeed, โwe belong to God and to Him we shall return.โ Yet, the pain of loss and its many consequences can be deeply paralysing. Even so, our faith teaches us not to allow grief to consume us forever.
The passing of my dear childhood friend, Lamin Famo Darboe, is a painful reminder of just how fleeting life truly is.

God is the sole creator and controller of life and death, and His decision to take someone dear to us remains beyond human understanding. Laminโs tragic accident and untimely death have shaken me to the core. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew himโa beautiful life cut short far too soon.
Lamin was a devoted family man and an exceptionally hardworking individual. Despite the many challenges life placed upon him, he endured with patience, dedication, and unwavering faith. He faced lifeโs burdens with dignity, never allowing himself to become a burden to others.
He was a pillar of peace and a true embodiment of kindness wherever he went. Warm, vibrant, and selfless, Lamin was always at the forefront when it came to helping others. His presence brought comfort and joy to many.
I am eternally grateful for the time we shared, my friend. Rest well, my โBaaba.โ Your friendship was a blessing, and I will miss you dearly. Your passing brings immeasurable sadness, but your memory and the love you gave will forever remain in our hearts.
O Allah, forgive him, have mercy upon him, and grant him the highest place in Jannah. Ameen.
