Canada-based Gambian and one of the most ardent boosters of the Barrow regime, Ahmad Gitteh, has called on law makers to reject the draft constitution when it comes up for vote later today.
His words: “It is democracy at work. Engage your NAMs in a civil and mature way. Calling and threatening people to vote your way will not solve this problem. Those who feel that voting against this 2020 draft is the best for us are citizens too with very valid and solid reasons....The glass that is half-full to you is half-empty to me.
As a bonafied [SIC] citizen of the republic , I honorably appeal to all NAMs across the board to REJECT THIS DAFT CONSTITUTION on Monday. Welcome the engagement of those who approached you with respect and civility even if you disagree with them as people's reps. As for those that are calling you to threaten and insult, we know one and only one camp that they can come from, the camp of fools and undemocratic minds. Do not give them any relevance”.
