All Roads Lead to Gunjur VDC Office as Dembo F. Touray Faces Challenge from Lamin Bada Bojang in Sports Committee Elective Congress

GUNJUR – All roads will lead to the Gunjur Village Development Committee (VDC) Office on Sunday, 20th July 2025, as the Gunjur Sports Committee (GSC) holds its hotly anticipated Elective Congress.
The congress, which kicks off at 9:30 AM, promises to be one of the most keenly contested in recent memory, with incumbent president Dembo F. Touray facing a strong challenge from Lamin Bada Bojang who aspire to replace Mr Touray as GSC President.
Both men are regarded as influential voices in Gunjur’s sports scene, and their contest for the top seat has sparked excitement and debate among clubs and stakeholders across the community.
In a statement released ahead of the congress, the GSC reminded all affiliated clubs to send two non-playing representatives and arrive on time. The committee also announced that invitation letters and congress reports will be distributed to clubs on Monday, 14th July 2025.
“As we approach this critical day for Gunjur sports, we wish all aspiring nominees the very best of luck,” the committee noted.
The upcoming congress is seen as a pivotal moment for Gunjur sports development, with stakeholders looking forward to fresh leadership ideas and strategies to build on past achievements and tackle ongoing challenges.
