AFNOW Distributes Ramadan Food Items Worth Over D100,000 in Gunjur

The Abubacarr Sidiq Foundation for the Needy and Widows (AFNOW) on Saturday, 21st February 2026 distributed the first batch of Ramadan food items to needy families and widows in Gunjur.

The 2026 AFNOW Ramadan Support Project, valued at D135,000, is funded by the Gunjur Development Fund (GDF). The initiative officially kicked off with the distribution of essential food commodities, including onions, cooking oil, potatoes, and other basic household necessities.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the foundation highlighted that the initiative aims to ease the burden on vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan, a period marked by fasting, prayer, and increased household expenses.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to both AFNOW and the GDF for their timely intervention, describing the support as crucial in helping them observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.

The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the less privileged in the community and called on philanthropists and development partners to continue supporting humanitarian initiatives in Gunjur and other communities.
