A ghastly car accident involving a “Gele Gele" and a Truck claims 5 lives and dozen injured around Sotokoi, Kombo East
A ghastly car accident involving a local commercial vehicle, locally known as "Gele Gele" and a Truck has claimed the lives of five people and injured a dozen others around the village of Sotokoi, Kombo East over the weekend.
According to sources, five people are believed to have died on the spot including the apprentice (driver’s mate). On board the vehicle were a group of people heading from the upcountry into to the kombos for a traditional bride ceremony called "manyobito".
Adama Joof, a staff at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) is said to have also died in the accident. The cause of the accident is unknown. A police investigation is currently underway to substantiate the cause of the accident as we file this report.
