The Gambian social media space is inundated with the distasteful and unmeasured remarks of President Adama Barrow, that were made in Brikama at the opening of an NPP Political Bureau over the weekend towards opposition leader Ousainou Darboe.

At a time when the country is at a political crossroads, cost of living crisis, housing crisis, devastation of the “backway” route to mainland Europe by the youths, Gambian President Adama Barrow ought to focus on policies that will help ease the hardship people are facing up and down the country.
The remarks of President Barrow on Ousainou Darboe, is hateful, uncalled for, distasteful and above all, ugly from a sitting head of state.
State House must issue a Public apology for the remarks of President Barrow towards an opposition leader in the interest of the peace and tranquility in the country.
We must continue to nurture our cultural and traditional values as a people. The remarks of President Barrow are out of place, he’s the President of The Republic of The Gambia and must be measured in his utterances.
