Fabakary Touray of Gunjur bags Gambia U17 trials


Fabakary Touray fondly called Maxi from Gunjur in Kombo South have been selected in The Gambia Under 17 trials ahead of the WAFU Under 17 championship to be held in Dakar, Senegal.


Fabakary Touray who started his football carrier playing for Falcons FC in Gunjur as a Central Defender moved to Merino FC of Serekunda following successful trials with the SK outfit.

Whilst playing for Marino FC, he was again invited for trials with Kex United where he sealed a permanent move.

Speaking to GunjurNewsOnline on Fabakary’s invitation for The Gambia U17 trials, Hatab Jobe(Angloma) who is the CEO of Gunjur Football Academy and the head coach of Falcons FC in Gunjur said he is not surprised that Maxi ha been called up for trisls with Gambia U17.

His words: “Maxi will certainly make it when he is given a chance because he is very serious, determine and discipline in the field of football. Looking at his performances in the second Division this year, I believed that Under 17 selection committee doesn't have any mistake to invited him for trial.”

Fabakary Touray helped his club Kex United to promotion to Gambia’s top tier First Division League. In the current football season, Fabakary has won numerous player of the month awards and have scored several goals for his club as a central and midfield player.
