Misery for big guns as debutants progress in Gunjur Nawettan

Red Star FC

Almost all the pundits got their analysis of the 2017/ 18 Gunjur Nawettan wrong as heavyweights including the most successful team in Gunjur Nawettan takes an early exit while lowly rated sides make amazement. Two new commers Blaness and The-Pub FC and the usual under performers Sibindinto FC proved the bookmakers wrong as they progress to the knock out phase at the expense of familiar faces. Blaness tops a group that consists of the mighty Red Star and CommIT FC with six points, while Sibindinto finished second with four points. Red Star the reigning Knock-Out Champions, currently the most successful team in Gunjur with twelve trophies to their name, had a woeful campaign as they finished third behind Sibindinto with equal four points but, their failure to score more than one goal left them with an inferior goal difference. CommIT who are suspended for two years occupied the bottom of group B with a mere two points.

Reliance FC

In group A champions Reliance could not prove their superiority as they end second with five points behind group leaders The-Pub FC who secured seven points. Halifax FC avoids relegation with four points in third place, while Gamrock are relegated after a winless campaign. The standings in Group A and B indicates a likely knock out phase fixture of: The-Pub vs Sibindinto Blaness vs Reliance Group C & D will be completed today and tomorrow.
