Atlanta Islamic League Awards Honourary PhD To Seedy Ali Janneh



The Atlanta Islamic League (AIL) in Georgia, USA recently awarded an honourary doctorate degree to Seedy Ali Janneh, an Imam in Gothenburg, Sweden. In a statement sent to this medium, AIL described itself as a galaxy of Islamic super stars in Atlanta, GA. The body referred to the award of an honourary doctorate degree to Imam Janneh as "a vision from Allah(SWT)".

According to the release, Imam Seedy Ali Janneh has translated many Islamic publications to his native Mandinka language including the holy Quran. He was born in Gunjur, Gambia where he enrolled in early islamic education under the watch of renowned Gambian islamic scholar, Shaykh Hatab Bojang. Upon completion of primary education, Janneh travelled to Egypt, where he obtained a bachelor's degree. Imam Janneh is said to have published several books and travelled widely.

Imam Janneh has a background in journalism and radio communication and owns a radio station in his hometown, Gunjur. The release further added that Dr Seedy Ali Janneh " is the epitome of academic excellence in our contemporary era. He epitomises superiority of human cognitive capabilities in the twenty first century."
