Presidential adviser: ‘Barrow responsible for human rights violations’

Presidential adviser on youth matters, Saihou Mballow, has declared president Adama Barrow should be held ‘responsible’ for human rights violations perpetrated under his administration.

Presidential adviser, Mballow said Barrow is responsible for any development and human rights violations under his watch

Speaking to Sarjo Brito of Fatu Network during the news review program on Thursday, Mr. Mballow stated:

“Whatever happens in this country today he is responsible. We have seen cases, incidences that happened here they are attributed to president Barrrow which he has no knowledge of because of (sic) he is the president. Whatever happened, Sarjo Brito, to be honest with you from the 1st of December to 2019 to 2021 president Barrow is responsible, all the improvements and also any human rights violations”.

Adama Barrow rose to power in 2016 elections when he beat long term leader president Yahya Jammeh under a coalition ticket. He has since ditched the political alliance to start his own party, NPP, which last week notched its first electoral victory in Niamina West and Kerr Jarga by-elections.
