Eco Travel Gambia and Bamboo Foundation – The Gambia has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Gunjur Village, to strengthen the co-operation between the two organizations and further develop synergies and partnerships in areas of shared interest.
The two organizations from today onwards will collaboratively strategies and implement the following activities in The Gambia: - Annual tree planting exercise in The Gambia with the (The Million Trees Campaign), through establishment of Community-based Bamboo Forest (CBF) projects across the country. - Conduct environmental education, and awareness building program in both Junior and Senior Schools in The Gambia. - Conduct periodic environmental meetings with stakeholders in the Gambia, for the preservation of the country’s remaining environmental resources. - Effectively advocate for management and conservation of marine and coastal ecological resources for the future generations. - Jointly work on mapping all the National Parks, Community Forest Park, and Ecological Restoration Projects into an online App. Among other initiatives ~ The President of both organizations affirmed their commitment to nurture and uphold the effective implementation of programs stated in the M.O.U Special appreciation and thank to Gunjur Environmental Protection and Development Group (GEPADG) for witnessing the signing ceremony.
