National Water and Electricity Company, NAWEC, today took further practical steps to supply communities with reliable electricity. Announcing a joint effort to kick-start immediate 24-hour electricity supply to Essau Metropolis and villages in its conurbation, Nawec announced: “NAWEC and Senelec engineers are putting the final touches to the Senelec panel and connection point in Karang. The Power Line is expected to be energized before night fall today, to bring 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to ESSAU and its sattelite villages from today. Today will mark another milestone in the history of Niumi and The Gambia as well as the bilateral relationship between Senegal and The Gambia”. The latest effort follows successful collaboration in electricity supply between the two countries to other major cities like Farafeni and Jarra Soma.
